About the event

Steelband culture began in Trinidad as an instrument of celebration and empowerment, then spread throughout the world to schools, universities and concert halls. A steelband director for over three decades, Emily Lanxner now engages her group, the Honeybee Steelband, for environmental activism, helping to pass laws to stop the use of toxic pesticides.
